A Bersatu leader has urged MPs to stop debating the bak kut teh issue following the continued dispute over its recognition as a national heritage food during the Dewan Rakyat session yesterday.

Kuala Lumpur: Tourism, arts and culture minister Tiong King Sing today said that recognising bak kut teh as a national heritage food has nothing to do with race or religion.

Kota Kinabalu: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Yee Tsai Yiew said today that the issue of Bak Kut Teh being listed as a national heritage food should be viewed with an inclusive and open mind, a reflection of the harmonious development of multicultural Malaysia.
